Ronne's Website Journal

Welcome to Ronne's Website Journal.

If anyone wants to keep up with me, you can always come to this page.  I will no longer be using LiveJournal.  It's easier for me to maintain all that stuff from one site as I am always pressed for time and I have decided to spend more time on my website and keeping it current.  At least on this page, everyone will be able to see pictures of new art instead of following links here and there.

December 22, 2009

Well here it is, almost Christmas time and New Year's... guess it's time for the "new resolutions".  Well one of mine is going to be to keep my website updated better with new art, chit-chat, and the like.

Recent Happenings:  Bad news: I closed the doors on my ebay store, Enchanted Cartoons, on December 3rd.  I debated for 3 months whether or not to do it, but I finally decided it was in my best interest to close it. I may open it back up at a future date.  But some good did come out of it...I am trying to get more focused on my website, cause I know not everyone is or wants to be a part of the ebay thing.  I do still auction original paintings off at least once a week or so, but again trying to focus more on my site!

Art Show News:  I have nothing on the books currently, but I just wanted to give a big thank you to everyone who dropped by my booth at the John C. Campbell Folk School on October 3-4, 2009.  I was really surprised actually at how much support I received there from local folks, as well as out-of-towners. Thanks to all!  I hope to see you there in 2010 as I am going back!

Now I want to take a minute and share my newest painting with everyone.  This is actually the finished product of the dragon that I had started at the Folk School show, so everyone who wanted to see the finished product, here you go.  I also met a lot of people at that show, but I want to mention one particular individual that I met there who actually gave me the idea on how to paint this dragon.  I am a novice at painting dragons, but his input really helped me get this painting going.   He also named the painting for me.  Hence forth "Dragon Night" has been born.  I want to thank Brian Stahl of Ellijay Georgia for his clever ideas and input.  Here is the silver dragon with the amber eye.  I actually went a couple of steps further with your idea, by making the silver dragon actually appear "chrome-like" and added a touch of my personal pizazz of purples, pinks, and blues reflecting from the night sky onto the dragon.  If you can look a little closely you will see some of the dragon's own reflection in the wings.  It actually took me a long time to paint this and so for now I am going to keep it for myself, cause I am actually quite proud of how it turned out, hee hee hee.

Art Lessons:  I am working on a couple of projects right now about making a book of art lessons or art lesson packets on some of my art.  Too, I had several people at the Folk School show ask me if I taught lessons.  I am considering starting acrylic painting classes of fantasy art and possibly underwater life through Tri-County Community College Continuing Education.  If I can manage it, I will possibly check about 1 night class starting in the summer semester.  These classes run for 6 weeks 1 night a week.  If not this summer, I do plan to teach it during the day in the Fall 2010 schedule.

Commissions:  Lastly for all of you who kept asking if I did commissions at the Folk School, well this new category will be just for you.  I haven't actually posted it yet on my website, I need to wait until after the first of the year, because at this moment I already have 3 to do and it takes me a while on commissions, so check back regularly after the first of the year when I actually add all the information about these paintings.

Okay, that's all I have for now and I do hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.  God Bless Everyone.
