Ronne's Website Journal

Welcome to Ronne's Website Journal.

If anyone wants to keep up with me, you can always come to this page.  I will no longer be using LiveJournal.  It's easier for me to maintain all that stuff from one site as I am always pressed for time and I have decided to spend more time on my website and keeping it current.  At least on this page, everyone will be able to see pictures of new art instead of following links here and there.

June 29, 2009--UPDATE

Well, it obviously has been ages since I updated this page.  It's amazing how you get wrapped in the "goings on" of everyday life.  I do apologize for the length of time between updates, but on my part, I can say that I do have legit excuses, but anyway, won't go in detail with all that jazz.  I will try to do better.

Over the weekend, I met some fellow artists that I would like to "chat" about and acknowledge for a minute.

Richard Greene, a contemporary acrylic artist I just want to thank you for answering all of my tireless questions about art shows, etc, etc.  I'm glad I finally got to meet ya.  Since Matthew knew you so well, every time I had a question I'd be like ,"well call Richard and see what he says" or "call Richard and see what he does".  Maybe from now on, whenever I need to know something, I've got your card and I'll give you a ring instead!  I'll see you at the next show!

For all my fans that happen to find themselves driving through Murphy NC, you can usually find Richard and his art on the square in Murphy at the Farmer's Market which usually takes place on Saturdays (April-October) from 10-2, so even local folks, if you're driving through town stop and give Richard's art a browse.  I love the paintings of the dollar bills, they are my fave!!

And now, I am all a tither with excitement!  I actually met another person who actually likes drawing cartoons! and to beat it all, he is an actual cartoonist! and he lives in Murphy!

John "Jack" Cassady, I so enjoyed talking to you!  I have never physically met someone other than my kids who appreciates the "lighter side of life" or cartoons! I should say for those who don't get the metaphor.  I love your website and it was an honor to meet you.  I have two words for you.....YOU ROCK!

Jack's website is www.toonmaker.com and it is fabulous!  He also teaches classes at the local John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC.  He also offers loads of lessons online that you can complete in the privacy of your own home at your own pace, so check it out!

Okay, that about wraps it up for a day or two.  When I have something new, I'll let ya'll know.
